HESSTON — Central Christian College’s men’s golf team began its spring season over the weekend by competing against Hesston College in a dual match at Hesston Municipal.
The Tigers had two teams compete. One CCC team shot a 317, the other a 338. Hesston, behind a 66 by Chandler Roberts, shot a 301.
Collin Duckworth, just as he has done in about every tournament in his two years at CCC, led the Tigers with a 75.
Other CCC scores:
Team 1 — Colten Person, 79; JP Ray, 79; Lowell Stephens, 84, Trehern McGill, 84.
Team 2 — Matt Rettinger, 80; Christopher Tucker, 85; Jonathan Kramer, 86; John Browning 87, Josh Paine, 88.
"This was the first tournament of the year and some of our guys were shaking off some rust, but it is a marked improvement from where we left off in the fall,” CCC coach Kyle Moody said. “Most of our guys put in work during the offseason and we are beginning to see it pay off. We still have a lot to work on, but this is not a bad starting point.”
