McPherson High seniors Hailee Snyder and Sarah Avila will be joining the Bethany College dance team next year after a signing ceremony on Thursday in the MHS Little Theatre.

Both currently perform for the Mac Hi-Steppers.

Snyder also has been a member of the International Club and Outdoors Club.

“The free tuition was a big thing and I made the dance team,” Snyder said. “It was a nice school. It’s small enough, but far away enough from McPherson to be separate, but close enough for me to run home.”

She will major in business or social work.

She’ll be joining Avila as they continue on collegiately together.

“It’s close to home,” Avila said. “They do the free tuition thing and I like that. It’s a small school, so you get one-on-one with your professors.”

Avila, who also was looking at Wichita State and Hutchinson, will major in nursing. She also has been a member of the FCCLA at MHS.

“They’ll bring lots of personality,” MHS Hi-Stepper coach Dara Reese said. “They always have a positive attitude. These two are very dependable. They haven’t missed a practice and if I ask them to do something at the last minute, they’ll do it.”
