KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Central Christian College’s prolific 3-point shooter Michael Gholston has been selected to compete in the NAIA 2017 NABC-NAIA Shoot and Slam.

All NAIA Division I and II senior players were eligible for selection. Gholston, who is CCC’s all-time leading scorer, will be joined by Zach Taylor of Carroll College, Jalen McGaughey of Dillard (La.) and Kyle Pipenger of IU East.

Of the four, Gholston has made the most 3-pointers this season with 108 and shoots 41 percent.

“He has made 352 3-point field goals, making 42 percent of his attempts for his career and he is not done yet,” CCC coach Tony Romero said. “He has worked very hard at his craft and been easy to coach.”

The contest will take place at 4 p.m. on March 18 in Kansas City’s Municipal Auditorium in conjunction with the NAIA Division I National Tournament. There also will be a slam dunk contest.
