EL DORADO — McPherson College’s baseball team remains at .500 after a split on Tuesday with Southwestern Christian College at a neutral site.

The games were to have been played in Bethany, Okla., but bad field conditions led to the switch in venue.

Southwestern Christian scored two runs in both the second and third innings to win the opener, 5-2. The Bulldogs were held to five hits, but two of them were loud as Dylan Fontenot and Lane Fleming went yard.  Cameron Oram pitched 4 1/3 innings of one-run relief for Mac.

The Bulldogs bounced back strong with a 7-1 win to gain the split. Blake Ware was nails on the mound as he allowed just a run over six innings, with Dylan Klava working a scoreless seventh. Fleming, Reily Martin and Brett Carter all drove in two runs. Trevor Haycock had two hits.

The Bulldogs play Friday and Saturday at Evangel, weather permitting, as a cold front is supposed to blow through.
