Friday at 4 o’clock was the deadline for firms to respond to the RFP for the renovation of the McPherson community building.
21 firms responded to the online planning application, 11 of which came to tour the building, and six submitted final proposals for the building.
The city commission will now go through a series of interview with the remaining firms to select the right architect.
Subcommittees will be put together this week for the various uses of the building. Recreational, business, kitchen and The Globe Refiners Gym.
The building will be restored to vintage standards but not placed into the historical registry.
An oversight committee will be made up of mostly McPherson Public Works Engineers to guide and monitor each part of the renovation. The construction will begin at the end of summer.
