Eldredge makes state semifinals at 138

SALINA — Austin Eldredge joined his McPherson High teammate Rhett Edmonson as a semifinalist in the Class 4A State Wrestling Tournament this afternoon.

Eldredge was given a push by Bryant Page of Andover Central, but came away with a 7-4 victory in the quarterfinals.

Eldredge is now one victory away from competing for the state championship at 138 pounds.

Eldredge has a monster semifinal match later today against Tonganoxie’s Gad Huseman, who is 41-2 on the season. Eldredge is now 39-3.

Andale’s Zach Eck, last year’s 132-pound state champion, goes up against Levi Green of Baldwin in the other semi. Green is 45-4 on the year while Eck is 35-3, with one of his losses being 5-4 to Eldredge.
