MHS cagers ranked Nos. 3, 7

McPherson High’s basketball teams stayed put in the final Kansas Basketball Coaches Association rankings released late Monday.

The MHS girls are No. 3 in Class 4A Division I, trailing Kansas City Piper and Bishop Miege.

The MHS boys are No. 7, trailing Bishop Miege, Kansas City Piper, Ottawa, Eudora, Wamego and Basehor-Linwood.

Buhler and Hays, which are in the same sub-state with MHS this week at Buhler, were Nos. 9 and 10, respectively.

Hesston’s boys, after losing last week to Sterling, were displaced at the top in Class 3A by Holcomb and the Swathers are now No. 2. The Swather girls dropped out of the poll after losing to Sterling last week.

Moundridge’s girls finished No. 8 in the 2A poll.
