McPherson High’s bowling team will be represented by Alexis Kieffer and Jeff Reed in the Class 5-1A State Tournament on Thursday at Wichita’s Northrock Lanes.
Kieffer will bowl first at 9:30 a.m., while Reed takes part in the boys’ event that starts at 2:45 p.m.
Both seniors advanced to state by placing seventh in their respective divisions in last week’s regional.
“They are both disappointed that the teams didn't get to go, but excited that they are bowling for the state championship,” MHS coach Herb Halinski said. “They have been practicing this week and both are rolling the ball really well. I think they will both perform well and to the best of their ability. The are familiar with Northrock and bowled on tough conditions there in the past. They are both looking forward to it.”
