OKLAHOMA CITY — McPherson College’s baseball team hung tough with national power Oklahoma City University for six innings on Wednesday before the Stars erupted late for an 11-2 victory in a single, nine-inning game.
It was the last tune-up for the 7-12 Bulldogs before the start of KCAC play as Mac heads to York College on Saturday.
The Bulldogs trailed only 2-0 before Oklahoma City scored twice in the sixth, then tacked on four runs in the seventh and three in the eighth. The Stars are now 18-3 on the year.
Mac’s two runs came in the eighth inning, both driven in by Reily Martin with a double.
With KCAC play about to begin, Mac coach Bryan Moses used this game to get all his pitchers some work as he employed seven, none of them pitching more than two innings.
