Softball Tigers struggle in home opener

A change of venue didn’t change the fortunes of the Central Christian College softball team on Friday.

The Tigers made their home debut against College of St. Mary, which stifled the CCC hitters for 6-1 and 13-0 wins.

Cheyenne Bouis drove in the only run of the day for Central, which had three hits in the first game and two in the second game in being blanked.

Central is still looking for its first win as it has dropped 14 straight to open the season, 12 on the road. The Tigers hook up with crosstown rival McPherson College for two games on Tuesday starting at 5 p.m. at Wall Park.
