WICHITA — McPherson College’s softball team outlasted MidAmerica Nazarene on Saturday in the Friends Invitational, but then suffered losses to Peru State and Hastings College.

The Bulldogs are now 6-12 on the year and host Central Christian College on Tuesday at Wall Park. First pitch is 5 p.m.

• Mac 4, MidAmerica Nazarene 3 — The Bulldogs spotted the Pioneers three runs before scoring singletons in each of the final four innings to pull out the extra-inning win.

Christie Betker continues to be Mac’s ace as she fanned eight to pick up the win. Kortney Jones lashed two hits, one a double. Jordyn Corea scored two runs.

• Peru State 12, Mac 4 — A seven-run fifth inning was the difference after it had been a 4-3 game after four innings. Jones had two more hits to lead the Bulldogs.

• Hastings College 13, Mac 1 — The Broncos put together a pair of five-run innings and Mac made five errors in the field. Jones stayed on her season-long roll by going 3 for 3 as the Bulldogs had seven hits in the game, but couldn’t get the clutch hit. Katie Holmes added two hits.
