YORK, Neb. — It appeared McPherson College’s baseball team was going to salvage one game in its three-game series with York College, but the Panthers staged a monster rally to outlast the Bulldogs 11-8 in Sunday’s finale.
Mac had sprinted to an 8-2 lead and had it been the usual seven-inning game, it would have prevailed.
But the Panthers scored four in the seventh to get back in it, then exploded for five runs in the eighth.
The Bulldogs, 0-3 in the KCAC and 7-15 overall, received homers from Dylan Fontenot and Evan Willow.
Fontenot and Lane Fleming ripped three hits apiece as Mac totaled 12 in the game. Bryce Strecker and Jackson Goodmiller contributed two apiece.
The Bulldogs host Ottawa this weekend for a three-game set, two games on Saturday and a single game on Sunday.
