Kansas Big Brothers Big Sisters Does Not Seek Signatures Door-to- Door for Approval of Mentors Wichita, Kan. – On Thursday, March 2, 2017, KSBBBS received a report that a gentleman was going door-to- door asking residents to sign paperwork that would allow him to receive enough votes to become a mentor in its one-to- one mentoring program. It is not the process or procedure of KSBBBS to seek referrals in this manner, and there is no “voting” involved in determining the eligibility of a potential individual to become a mentor. Because of the nature of one-to- one mentoring, KSBBBS conducts thorough background checks, referrals and a series of interviews to ensure that each youth matched with a mentor is safe and of high quality. For more information on the process of becoming a mentor, please contact KSBBBS at (316) 263-3300.
