2 MHS wrestlers make D-III 1st team

State champion Austin Eldredge and state finalist Rhett Edmonson were the McPherson High wrestlers who earned first-team All-AVCTL Division III honors that were announced on Monday.

Eldredge was the 138-pound first-team selection, while Edmonson, who took second in the state at 106, also made the first team.

Second-team selections for MMS were EJ Kretzer at 120, Scott Radke at 145 and Bailey Yarborough at 182.

Honorable mention for the Bullpups were Landon Crews at 113, Brynton Crews at 132, Ben Hopkins at 152, Luke Thompson at 170, Kourtney Craig at 195 and Alex Grennan at 275.

El Dorado’s Dacotta Motter, 4A state champion at 170, was the league MVP, while Winfield’s Nick McGrew was Coach of the Year.
