WICHITA — McPherson College sits in sixth place in the season-long KCAC Commissioner’s Cup after the winter sports were figured in.
Saint Mary has taken over the top spot with 89 1/2 points. Tabor is second with 86, followed by Kansas Wesleyan (84 1/2), Friends (83 1/2), Ottawa (74 1/2) and McPherson College (67).
Southwestern leads the second division with 63 1/2, followed by Sterling (59 1/2), Bethany (50 1/2), Oklahoma Wesleyan (45 1/2), York (43) and Bethel (25).
Sports that have counted so far toward the Cup standings are men’s cross country, women’s cross country, football, men’s soccer, women’s soccer, volleyball, indoor track and field (both men and women), cheerleading, and men’s and women’s basketball.
Sports that have been McPherson College’s strength are men’s indoor track and field (1st), men’s cross country (3rd) and men’s soccer (3rd).
Mac should make a push during the spring as it could very well be the KCAC champion in both men’s and women’s tennis, as well as men’s track and field.
