PLAINVIEW, Texas — Wayland Baptist completed a three-game weekend sweep of Central Christian College’s baseball team on Saturday with a 9-2 victory in a single game.
Central could never get anything going offensively all weekend, managing just three hits in the finale. The Tigers were down only 3-1 until the Texans scored four runs in the fourth.
Nate Patterson, Troy Carrigan and Shomari Cann had the Tigers’ hits.
Central is now 7-17 as it has lost its last six games. The Tigers will try for their second win this season against McPherson College when they host the Bulldogs at 6 p.m. Tuesday. First pitch is 6 p.m. at Light Capital Diamond, weather permitting.
