Hesston, SV cagers earn CKL honors

Hesston and Smoky Valley were well represented on the All-Central Kansas League basketball teams that have been announced.

For the boys, Hesston’s Zach Esau and Zach Vogt were joined on the first team by Smoky Valley’s Nick Reinert. Also on the first team were Samson Kohman of Pratt, Darian Ratzlaff of Hillsboro, Luke Wells of Haven and Brenner Donovan of Hoisington.

Smoky Valley’s Brett Heitschmidt made the second team.

The Vikes’ Jacob Adams and Ross Schrag were picked honorable mention, as was Hesston’s Reese Nebel, Cameron Cox and Cole McCreary.

Hesston’s Kailey Jo Ince was on the girls’ first team with Bailey Bangert of Kingman, Sydney Bangert of Kingman, Emmily Hendrixson of Haven, Mackenzie Anderson of Halstead, Emma Harmon of Hoisington and Kelsey Parr of Larned.

The Swathers’ Olivia Brubacher and Smoky Valley’s Katie Bellah made the second team. Hesston’s Alaina Dunlavy, Elise Kaiser and Celbi Richardson were honorable mention along with Smoky Valley’s Kate Deterding.
