Five members of the Central Christian College men's and women's basketball teams and one coach earned postseason accolades from the A.I.I. (Association of Independent Institutions) and NCCAA (National Christian College Athletic Association) for their prowess on the hardwood this past season.

For the Tiger women, their do-everything sophomore guard Abbie Banks was honored by both organizations as a second-team selection. Banks led the Tigers in points (15.58) per game, and steals (2.54) per game, and was second on the team in total rebounds with 126.

For the Tiger men, seniors Michael Gholston and Sam Clayborn were voted to the All-Conference and All-Region teams. Gholston, who led the Tigers in scoring this season with 18 points per game, was voted by the A.I.I. coaches to the conference's first team and by the NCCAA Central Region coaches to the All-Rregion second team.

Clayborn, who was second on the team in scoring at 13.2 and first in total assists with 137, was an A.I.I. All-Conference third-team selection and an honorable mention selection to the NCCAA All-Region team.

Three other members of the men's basketball program earned special awards handed out by the A.I.I. and NCCAA.

Jubril Osagie, a sophomore transfer this season, was awarded the Newcomer of the Year in the A.I.I., and senior Daniel Nwosuh was named to the A.I.I.'s Champions of Character team. CCC head coach Tony Romero was also recognized by his coaching peers. He was named as the NCCAA Central Region Co-Coach of the Year. He shared the award with Donnie Bostwick at Southwestern Assemblies of God University and Blake Flickner at Dallas Baptist University.
