CCC's Gholston in national contest today

KANSAS CITY — Central Christian College’s Michael Gholston has been one of the best 3-point shooters in the country for NAIA.

Today he’ll show why.

Gholston is taking part in the 3-point shooting contest as part of the NAIA's Shoot and Slam Competition sponsored by US Bank.

The contest takes place at 4 p.m. at Municipal Auditorium as part of the NAIA DI MBB National Tournament going on this week. Gholston joins Zach Taylor from Carroll College in Montana, Jalen McGaughy from Dillard University in Louisiana and Kyle Pipenger from IU East from Indiana.

McGaughy has the best percentage on the season of the four competitors at 57 percent.  Gholston made 41 percent of his attempts this season and had a total of 108, which the most among those in the competition. The next-closest competitor is Pipenger who made 70 treys this season.
