Softball Tigers lose two ion Monday

BABSON PARK, Fla. — Central Christian College’s softball team is on a spring break trip to Florida, but its fortunes haven’t changed.

The Tigers are now 0-4 on their trip after losing twice on Monday to Webber International University, ranked No. 11 in the country.

The Warriors won the first game 11-0, then completed the sweep with a 12-4 success in the nightcap.

Central was held to five hits in the first game, two apiece by Maria Grijalva and Nicole Steiskel. The Warriors scored at least one run in each of their four at-bats.

Central led the second game 1-0 early, but the Warriors scored three runs in the second and five in the third. Steiskel had another good game for CCC with two hits and two RBIs.

Central is back in action today, playing No. 3-ranked Southeastern University.
