BETHANY, Okla. — McPherson College’s baseball team produced 19 runs in two games on Tuesday against Southwestern Christian University, but all that got the Bulldogs was a split of the doubleheader.

The Eagles were a 12-11 winner in the first game before Mac charged back to double SWC 8-4 in the nightcap.

Mac is now 12-19 on the year and hosts No. 3-ranked Oklahoma Wesleyan for a three-game series that begins with a 7 p.m. game on Friday, followed by a Saturday doubleheader that has a 1 p.m. start.

• Southwestern Christian 12, Mac 11 — This was heartbreak hotel. After Mac scored four runs in the top of the ninth to take an 11-7 lead, the Eagles roared back for five runs and a walk-off victory.

The Bulldogs actually scored eight of their runs over the final two innings.

Lane Fleming stayed on fire for Mac with three more hits and he drove in three runs. Cody Gilbertson also collected three hits and Trevor Haycock added two.

• Mac 8, Southwestern Christian 4 — The Bulldogs showed a lot of grit by coming back from the devastating first-game loss.

The Bulldogs scored three runs in both the third and seventh innings.

Dylan Klava smacked three hits to lead Mac, while Fleming and Trent Smith added two apiece. Klava, Evan Willow and Jackson Goodmiller all drove in two runs.

Soren Yarnell went the distance to pick up the victory, scattering hits and not walking a hitter. He threw only 78 pitches.
