BARTLESVILLE, Okla. — McPherson College’s baseball team gave No. 3-ranked Oklahoma Wesleyan all it wanted and then some, but still came up short in a doubleheader Saturday.

The teams play a single game today at 1 p.m. to conclude the series. Mac is now 3-8 in the KCAC and 12-21 overall, while the high-flying Eagles are 8-3 in the KCAC and 28-6 overall.

• Oklahoma Wesleyan 6, Mac 3 — The nine-inning opener saw the Bulldogs leading 3-2 after five innings, but the Eagles scored the game’s final four runs as they put up a singleton in each of the final four innings.

Dylan Fontenot laced three hits for the Bulldogs and Dylan Klava added two. Both had a double.

Blake Ware worked five innings before departing, with Cameron Oram taking the loss in relief.

• Oklahoma Wesleyan 4, Mac 3 (10) — The game was tied 3-3 after two innings, then the next seven innings went by without a team scoring.

Wesleyan finally pushed across a run in the 10th to avoid the upset.

Jackson Goodmiller drove in two Mac runs as the Bulldogs were held to six hits. Klava and Brett Carter both threw the ball extremely well, with Carter taking the loss.
