Mac's Pelnar wins state title

TOPEKA — Treyton Pelnar of the MAC Wrestling Club is a state champion.

Pelnar won his title in the USAW Kansas State Tournament over the weekend at the Topeka Expocentre. He won the 12-and-under, 64-pound class.

Other placers:

• 2nd — Elijah Clarke, 10-and-under, 120

• 3rd — Tucker Pelnar, 12-and-under, 76; Collin Pearson, 12-and-under, 100; Landon Frantz, 14-and-under, 150

• 4th — Alex Perkins, 14-and-under, 205

• 5th — Wayne Hitt, 14-and-under, 235

• 6th — Landon Crews, 14-and-under, 105; Jonah Clarke, 14-and-under, 155.

Also competing were Jake Evans, Jaxon Chrislip, Landon Thompson, Mason Thrash, Brynton Crews and Scott Radke.

“The wrestlers put forth their best effort,” MAC coach Lance Engel said. “Nine out of the 15 who competed placed in the Top 6.”
