EMPORIA — McPherson High’s JV tennis team went up against some tough competition on Monday in the Emporia Invitational.

Clayton Everhart took fourth place at No. 2 singles, while the other Bullpups were sixth. Tyler Burns played No. 1 singles, while the doubles teams were Kade Goss-Taylor Miller and Logan Hardgrave-Jackson Fox.

“All of the boys played in a lot of close matches and were in them until the very end, we just had a hard time closing important games out,” MHS coach Ricardo Sanchez said.
