OKLAHOMA CITY — Taryn Norstrom of the MAC Wrestling Club earned All-American honors during the USAW Women’s National Folkstyle Tournament that drew competitors from all across the country this past weekend.
Norstrom earned All-American honors by taking 8th in the 144-pound Cadet Class.
MAC coach Lance Engel said the entire team did a great job as this was a true test since it was the best of the best.
Also competing were Mya Kretzer, Holli Giddings, Bailey Boyett, Hannah Moore and Shyanne Fernandez.
“That is the end of our folkstyle season, it was a very good year.,” Engel said. “The wrestlers did a great job and now we’re on to the Freestyle and Greco wrestling season. We are very excited that coach (Tom) Carr from Central Christian College is going to run a regional training center at the college, which means that there will be two practices a week held at the college with other people from other clubs attending to try to get enough wrestlers to pair up. This will be a great opportunity for the wrestlers."
