Duckworth goes low for CCC golfers

SALINA — Central Christian College’s Collin Duckworth carded an excellent 73 on Monday to stand in 7th place after the first day of the Kansas Wesleyan Golf Invitational at Salina Country Club.

Duckworth is five shots off the lead.

Central is in 6th as a team after shooting a 317. Other scores were JP Ray (78), Colton Person (82), Lowell Stephens (84) and Trehern McGill (89).

Central’s second team is 9th. Scores were Jonathan Kramer (82), Matt Rettinger (84), John Browning (84), Joshua Paine (86) and Chad Tucker (92).

Bethany’s Aspen Bryant is the women’s leader with a 78. Other Swede scores were Lexi Pauls (90), Rachel Meyer (104) and Larrah Bills (125).

Central’s two entrants were Kari Kirl and Haley Smith. Kirl shot 87 and is in 4th, while Smith shot 91 and is in 10th.

The tournament concludes today.
