Duckworth shines for CCC golfers

SALINA — Central Christian College’s Collin Duckworth finished in a tie for 4th place on Tuesday in the two-day Kansas Wesleyan Spring Golf Invitational at Salina Country Club.

Duckworth, who had shot a 73 on Monday, came back with a 74 for a 147 total, six shots off the winning 141 score.

Central as a team finished in sixth place as it matched the 317 total it had shot on Monday.

Other scores for CCC on Tuesday were Lowell Stephens (79), JP Ray (81), Colton Person (83) and Trehern McGill (83).

Central had a second entry that took 9th. The Tiger second unit shot a 319 as CCC displayed its depth.

Jonathan Kramer fired a 76, while John Browning added a 79. Other scores were Matt Rettinger (81), Joshua Paine (83) and Chris Tucker (87).

On the women’s side, Bethany’s Aspen Bryant was the medalist with a 157 as she turned in a second-day 79. Other BC scores on Day 2 were Lexi Pauls (89), Rachel Meyer (101) and Larrah Bills (125).

Central had two individuals enter. Kari Kirl shot a 92 on the second day to end up in a tie for 5th with a 179 total. Haley Smith was 12th after a 95 gave her a two-day score of 186.
