WICHITA — McPherson College’s bats never got going on Friday as the Bulldogs dropped a 5-1 KCAC baseball game to Friends in the first of a three-game set at Lawrence Dumont Stadium.

The teams play two more games today. Because of impending rain, the twinbill will start at 11:00.

Friends, which is receiving votes in the NAIA national poll, is now 9-4 in the conference and 21-12 overall. The Bulldogs are 4-9 in the KCAC, 13-22 overall.

The Falcons scored all the runs they needed with a pair in the third and had another two-run inning in the seventh.

Lane Fleming, the only Bulldog with two hits, had a double while the other four Bulldog hits were singles.

Augie Isaacson was a thorn in Mac’s side by going 3 for 3 with three runs scored. John Gardner drove in three runs for the Falcons.

Blake Ware took the loss. He walked only one and fanned five in his 6 1/3 innings of work. Logan Worswick pitched the final 1 2/3 innings.
