Little River wins, loses in baseball opener

LITTLE RIVER — Little River’s baseball team won big and lost big in its season opener against Bennington on Friday.

The Redskins’ win was a 14-1 blowout, keyed by a seven-run third inning and six-run fourth.

Levi Swenson was the winning pitcher, going 4 2/3 innings and striking out nine. He also was the hitting star by driving in four runs.

The Redskins lost a 7-0 verdict in the nightcap as they were held without a hit. Bennington scored at least one run in each of the first four innings. Jace Garrison took the loss.
