NORTH NEWTON — The bad weather finally held off long enough for the Central Christian College men’s tennis team to get in a match after more than two weeks off.

The Tigers lost an 8-1 neutral-site dual to Midland University of Nebraska on Saturday.

Gallagher Martin, a one-time McPherson High state doubles champion, recorded the long Tiger win at No. 3 singles, with a 10-8 super tiebreaker after two sets were splits.

Zach Beuford lost a super tiebreaker in another close match. Losing in straight sets for Central were Brandon Lamanche, Carlos Padilla, Andres Padilla and J.D. Williams.

Doubles teams for CCC were Lamanche-Martin, Padilla-Padilla and Bueford-Williams.

Central plays Monday at Friends at Wichita’s McAdams Park.
