LINDSBORG — Haven’s powerhouse softball team jumped on Smoky Valley in Game 1 on Monday before the Vikings were much more competitive in Game 2.
Haven leveled the Vikings 20-0 in the opener, scoring 11 runs in the first inning. The game went three innings and Smoky Valley did not have a hit.
In Game 2, Haven scored four runs in the first inning, only to see the Vikings charge back with five. But the Wildcats were relentless as they wound up with a 16-10 decision.
Offensive leaders for the Vikings were Teagan Miller (two hits, two RBIs), Jordan Otto (triple, two RBIs), Megan Sample (two RBIs), Halle McClure (three hits, two runs) and Kira Haxton (three hits, one a triple, two RBIs).
The Vikings are scheduled to play today at Halstead, weather permitting.
