MARION, Iowa — Bethany College’s men’s golf team appeared to be in midseason form in its most recent tournament, the Eagle Spring Classic hosted by Kirkwood College.
The Swedes took second in a field that included some of the top junior college teams in the country.
“It was a great field of teams and many Iowa jucos, including the No. 1 Division I Juco team in the country and then another Top 10 Division II Juco team,” Bethany coach Dalton Stevens said. “We stacked up very well. It was a very talented field and our guys showcased their talents and we took runner-up. I think that we can take a lot of positives from this tournament with rounds of 293-290 going into the last conference tournament at Buffalo Dunes.”
Bethany’s Josef Loughlin took second in the tourney with rounds of 72-69-141. Other Bethany notable scores were Scott Farrall (73-73-146), Josh Meeks (74-74-148), Olly Rubenstein (74-75-149) and Nathan Limbacher (77-74-151).
