Kansas Wesleyan may be the softball team to beat in the KCAC.
The Coyotes came into McPherson on Thursday and dealt the Bulldogs a pair of setbacks to remain undefeated in KCAC play.
KW won the first game 7-0, scoring most of its runs in two separate innings. The Coyotes struck for three runs in the third and finished the game with three in the seventh. Mac was held to four hits by KW ace Jordyn Parsons, all of them singles by four different players. Bulldog ace Christie Betker took the loss, though she fanned six in seven innings.
The Coyotes completed the sweep with an 8-3 win in the nightcap, with a four-run first inning the impetus. Mac trailed only 5-3 after four innings.
The Bulldog bats were again held in check as they had only four hits. Judith Salazar drove in two runs and Katie Holmes had a double. Sydney Lang took the loss.
With the win, Wesleyan stayed atop the KCAC standings at 7-0. Mac is 0-5 in KCAC play and 14-17 overall.
The Bulldogs play Saturday at much-improved Bethel, which recently split with Bethany.
