LINDSBORG — Smoky Valley lost a pair of baseball games to Nickerson on Friday.

The Panthers won the first game 15-3, but the score was somewhat misleading. Smoky Valley led 3-1 going into the fifth when Nickerson scored seven times and the Panthers also tacked on six runs in the seventh.

Ryan Weldy took the loss for Smoky.

The big inning doomed the Vikes again in Game 2. Nickerson scored three runs in both the fourth and fifth innings to key an 8-4 victory. Ty Campbell had the Vikes’ lone extra-base hit of the day, a double. Austin Lustfield took the loss.

Smoky goes to Halstead on Monday.
