LINDSBORG — The Smoky Valley softball team evened its record at 2-2 on Friday by taking a pair of games from Nickerson.
Game 1 was an easy 17-5 win as the Vikings scored in every inning. Megan Sample was the winning pitcher.
Hitting stars were Teagan Miller (4 for 4, four runs, homer, double), Jacque Hulse (3 for 3, homer, double, six RBIs), Katie Bellah (triple), Jordan Otto (homer, double, two hits, four RBIs), Sample (two RBIs), Keira Haxton (homer, two RBIs) and Natalie Brown (double).
It was more of the same in Game 2 as the Vikings rolled, 18-8. Otto was the winning pitcher.
Leaders were Miller (two hits, two runs), Bellah (three runs), Otto (two hits, a double, two runs, three RBIs), Sample (two hits, two runs, a double), Halle McClure (three hits, two runs, two RBIs), Haxton (four hits, a double, three RBIs) and Lindsey Gerlach (triple, double, two RBIs).
The Vikes play a makeup twinbill Monday at Halstead.
