LITTLE RIVER — Canton-Galva and Little River swapped lopsided baseball victories on Friday.

The Eagles opened their season with a 16-6 rout, with Reed Wiens the winning pitcher. He helped his own cause by going 4 for 4 with a homer, four runs scored and a whopping eight RBIs. Hunter Pearson was 3 for 3 with three RBIs. Devyn Elkins scored four runs and Nick Pearson tallied thee times.

“We played very well in the field with only three errors,” C-G coach Kelly Nelson said. “We hit the ball well and hard. Several boys didn't get credit for hits that were errors that were due to hard hits.”

Little River returned the favor in Game 2 with a 16-1 rout. Nick Pearson had the only hit and run for C-G.

“We had a lot of walks and hit by pitches, which led to fielders not being focused,” Nelson said. “We only gave up six hits.”
