Hesston High’s softball team was busy late last week with four games in two days.

The Swathers went up against a good Lyons team on Thursday, losing 16-3 and 13-3.

In the first game, Kinsley Miller had two hits and two RBIs for Hesston. Lyons jumped out to a 10-2 lead after three innings and then struck for six runs in the fourth.

In Game 2, the Lions spotted Hesston two runs in the top of the first before retaliating with six in the bottom of the inning, plus four in the second. Alaina Dunlavy and Rylie Schilling had two hits apiece for the Swathers.

On Friday at Kingman, the Swathers ran into a buzzsaw as the Eagles won 14-0 and 13-3.

Four different Swathers had a single each in the first game. It was close until the fourth when the Eagles erupted for 10 runs.

In the nightcap, the Eagles scored four runs in both the first and second innings. Dunlavy had two hits for Hesston.

The Swathers play Tuesday at Halstead.
