Central Christian College’s softball team finally ended its drought during a weekend road trip.
Central went 2-2 in games with Crowley’s Ridge College and Ecclesia College.
CCC ended a season-opening 27-game losing streak with a 9-0 win over Crowley’s Ridge, a game called after five innings. Kasi Kraus pitched a two-hit shutout and support offensively came in the form of homers by Nicole Steiskal and Rayne Wright. CCC scored five runs in the third and four runs in the fifth.
The Tigers couldn’t complete the sweep, losing Game 2 4-3 after leading 1-0 early.
Six Tigers had one hit each.
Against Ecclesia, Central lost the first game 8-0 but was a 6-2 winner in Game 2.
The Tigers are home Thursday to take on Tabor.
