HALSTEAD — Smoky Valley’s softball team had its hitting shoes on.
The Vikings piled up 47 runs in two games on Monday to easily dispatch Halstead twice.
The Vikings roared to a 27-12 victory in Game 1, highlighted by a 10-run inning and two frames of seven runs each.
Megan Sample was the beneficiary of all that hitting as she picked up her second win of the year against one loss.
Offensive leaders were Teagan Miller (three runs), Katie Bellah (three hits, four runs, four RBIs), Jacque Hulse (homer, thee runs, two RBIs), Jordan Otto (four runs, three RBIs), Halle McClure (two runs), Keira Haxton (three runs, two RBIs), Lindsey Gerlach (two runs) and Emma Ryals (four runs).
It was more of the same in Game 2 as the Vikes pounded the Dragons, 20-3. Otto is now 2-1 after pitching a five-hitter.
Smoky had three innings of four runs each and finally the big one, eight in the fifth.
Leaders for the Vikes were Miller (three runs), Bellah (two hits, two runs, three RBIs), Hulse (three hits, three RBIs), Otto (two RBIs), Haxton (two hits, two RBIs), Sample (three runs), Gerlach (two runs) and Katlin Allton (five runs, two RBIs).
The Vikings, now 4-2, host Kingman today.
