MHS entered a second team. Logan Hardgrave had the top finish by placing fifth at No. 2 singles with a 2-2 record. At No. 1 singles, Jackson Fox was 0-4 for eighth.
In doubles, both teams were sixth with 1-3 records. Clayton Everhart and Kade Goss played No. 1, with Tyler Burns and Kaleb Achilles playing No. 2.
Bryson McCaleb was an extra player, going 0-4 at No. 2 singles.
“Today was the best conditions weather-wise all year,” MHS coach Tyler Brown said. “The wind was calm and it was sunny and 70 degrees. Many of our players got valuable experience today, we were able to play 11 of players in today’s invite. Team Red took first place and was anchored by our veteran players. Trey Hett, Thomas Smith and Aaron Carlson had outstanding tournaments, all getting first place in their divisions. Zachary Wash, a freshman, also made a big impact today making it to the championship of his division, but falling just short getting second place. Overall I feel as a team we are improving and competing at a higher level when compared to the beginning of the season. It’s exciting as a coach to see players progressing as the season moves along.”
