Nationally ranked Sterling College handed Central Christian College’s baseball team a pair of losses on Tuesday at Light Capital Diamond.

Sterling, No. 23 in the most recent national poll, won the opener 7-3, sparked by a pair of three-run innings in the first and second.

Central was led by Kenny Cordova, who had two hits. Bryan Scott took the loss.

The nightcap was close early as CCC was up 1-0 after three innings. But the Warriors flexed their muscles with six runs in the fourth and seventh in the fifth on their way to a 15-2 rout.

Mario Rivera and Shomari Cann had two hits apiece for the Tigers. Cameron Bonds took the loss.

The Tigers, now 12-28, host Kansas Wesleyan today for a single, nine-inning game. First pitch is 5 p.m. at Light Capital Diamond.
