MUSKOGEE, Okla. — McPherson College’s baseball team began the week in style on Tuesday by sweeping two non-conference road games with Bacone College.
The Bulldogs raised their overall record to 19-23. They play a weekend series at nationally ranked Sterling College starting on Friday with a single game, then the teams play a doubleheader on Saturday.
• Mac 11, Bacone 2 — Mac led 5-0 early and then put the game out of reach with five runs in the sixth.
Trevor Haycock remained on his hot streak by smashing a homer and triple. Evan Willow and Lane Fleming clubbed doubles.
Fleming drove in three runs, while Haycock and Desmond Grayson knocked in two apiece.
Blake Ware was the winner, with Cameron Oram and Jeromy Denton finishing up in relief.
• Mac 12, Bacone 1 — Lane Felming smoked a home run and Logan Warswick allowed just one hit over four innings to pick up the win. Jarrod Manick and Zack McKay finished the game out of the bullpen.
Haycock continued his tear by going 3 for 3 with three RBIs. Fleming also drove in three runs. Mac coach Bryan Moses was able to get a lot of players into the game with the score out of hand.
