Topeka Zoo To Host "Safe Kids Day"

On Saturday, April 15, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., "Safe Kids Day" at The Topeka Zoo, 635 SW Gage Blvd., Topeka.

Safe Kids Day is a fun family day at the zoo to celebrate kids and help families learn simple things they can do to keep kids safe and healthy.

The event will include interactive booths and activities, entertainment, free bike helmets*, and a safety scavenger hunt for a chance to win great prizes.

Regular zoo admission rates apply. In addition to our state level supporters, nationally the event is supported by Nationwide, Johnson & Johnson, FedEx, Chevrolet, Kidde and Tide.

*Available while supplies last. Child must be present and helmet must fit that day. Over 300 helmets will be fitted and distributed.

Preventable injuries are the number one cause of death for children in Kansas. The good news is they are preventable, and there are life-saving interventions available today to ensure all kids have the opportunity to grow up to become whatever they can imagine. Safe Kids Day is an opportunity to raise awareness and resources to celebrate kids, prevent injuries and save lives.
