Central Christian College’s baseball team appeared to be well on its way to an easy victory over Kansas Wesleyan here Wednesday.
The Tigers piled up a 9-3 lead after four innings and victory No. 13 on the season was imminent.
But the Coyotes then teed off for five runs in the fifth inning and a whopping eight in the sixth to roll to a 19-12 victory.
The ball was jumping out of Light Capital Diamond as the Coyotes turned it into a bandbox with eight home runs. CCC had just one homer, that by Kenny Cordova, who had four RBIs.
Also for Central, Nate Patterson was 3 for 4 with four RBIs and Caleb Gorman had two hits and three runs scored.
Central, now 12-29, has a brief break as its next action is Tuesday at No. 23-ranked Sterling College.
