MHS JV baseball team splits with SC

SALINA — McPherson High’s JV baseball team split in a doubleheader Friday with Salina Central in a pair of high-scoring games.

Central won the first game, 20-16. Honestee Whittker, Jakob Feil and Gabe Hoover all had two hits to lead MHS. Hoover accounted for five RBIs.

Central scored 13 runs in the first two innings to take command.

MHS gained the split with a 15-12 victory in the nightcap. The Bullpups had innings of five and six runs to key the win.

Feil had three hits, while Tanner Cheatham and Kaleb Hoppes had two apiece. Hoover had four more RBIs to give him nine on the day, while Whittker drove in three.

The Bullpups are 3-3 on the year.
