The paintings of Nicole Thibodeau have been on display in the McPherson Public Library gallery throughout the month of March, and will continue to hang most of the month of April.  The public will have a chance to meet the artist at a closing reception on Saturday, April 29from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.

As evidenced in her paintings, Thibodeau is inspired by nature. She states, “The longer I make art, the more I understand the importance of my surroundings. The smells, sounds, and textures of the natural environment are inspiring to me.”

Thibodeau’s plein air style was influenced early on while painting with her father in the foothills of New Mexico. Her skills and control continued to develop while she attended college at Bethany College and Fort Hays State University.  Thibodeau received additional instruction in New York, France, and Italy, as well.

Thibodeau currently resides in Hays and her work is featured at the ArtSpace Gallery in Marquette.
