HOISINGTON — Hoisington’s baseball team snared a pair of victories from Smoky Valley on Tuesday.
The fourth inning was the difference in Game 1 as the Cardinals scored five runs after the Vikings had a taken a 1-0 lead. They used that as the impetus to a 7-3 victory.
Austin Lustfield and Ben Weldy were both 2 for 4 to lead the Vikes. Lustfield and Chris Mullen stroked doubles. Lustfield took the loss.
In the nightcap, the Cardinals broke a 5-all tie with a run in the bottom of the sixth inning for a 6-5 triumph.
Mullen, Zach Able and Brett Heitschmidt were all 2 for 4, with Heitschmidt hitting a double. Ryan Weldy took the loss.
Smoky Valley, now 3-8, goes to Pratt on Friday.
