Central Christian College’s softball team won at home for the first time this year as it took Game 1 from Bacone College 7-6 on Tuesday before the Warriors came back to earn the split with a 4-2 victory.

CCC is now 3-32 on the year. The Tigers have an excellent chance at a sweep today when they go to Lawrence to take on Haskell.

• Central 7, Bacone 6 — The Tigers scored all their runs in the first three innings, then held off a Bacone charge.

The Tigers scored two in the first, three in the second and two in the third. Bacone lost despite hitting three home runs.

Ashly Westgarth was 3 for 4 to pace the Tigers. Kasi Kraus and winning pitcher Rhemi Aguero-Pacheo had two hits apiece. Kraus drove in two runs.

• Bacone 4, Central 2 — The Tigers out-hit the Warriors 8-6, but made six errors while Bacone had none.

Eight different Tigers had one hit each. Kraus’ double was the only extra-base knock.
