Nationally ranked Sterling College dealt Central Christian College a pair of baseball road losses on Tuesday.
The 23rd-ranked Warriors, who were stunned twice by McPherson College over the past weekend, won the first game 13-7 and then completed the sweep with a 6-2 success.
Central, now 12-31, hooks up tonight with McPherson College at Light Capital Diamond. First pitch is 6 p.m. The teams have split their first two meetings.
• Sterling 13, Central 7 — The Tigers sprinted to a 4-0 lead, but the rest of the game belonged to the Warriors, who put together a pair of five-run innings.
Zane Howard homered and drove in four runs in defeat. Howard and Hunter Wilcher had two hits apiece and Caleb Gorman drove in two runs.
• Sterling 6, Central 2 — The game was tied 2-2 until Sterling scored a run in the fifth, then put the game out of reach with three in the sixth. Wilcher had two of the three Tiger hits as the offense was held in check. JD Noey drove in both CCC runs.
