MARION — There were only six schools for Berean Academy’s CKTL track and field meet on Tuesday, but the quality was outstanding.

Moundridge’s boys finished second only to Halstead and finished a point ahead of powerhouse Berean Academy. Halstead, always a state contender, scored 200 points, while MHS was one point better than Berean, 101-100.

MHS claimed three golds — Damian Calderon in the pole vault, Dillon Vogts in the 3,200 and Mason Dyck in the javelin.

The MHS girls were fourth with 62.17 points, trailing Berean (171.33), Sterling (134) and Halstead (83).

Jamya O’Quinn won her specialties, the 100 and 200 meters. Ellika Ptacek captured the 300 hurdles.
